Welcome Spring!!!

Posted by Annette on 4/9/2012
Hope this finds you well and rejuvenated this spring!
We had a fantastic turnout for our March classes at the Women With Scissors' Little House. Unfortunately not everyone managed to get into the class, so we are offering another opportunity to take a 2-hour version of the "Basic Prismacolor Blending Techniques" Class on April 21st at the Little House in Tucson!
Many of March's class participants requested Class 3, "Using Light and Shadow" to create depth and enhance their artwork, so the afternoon class on April 21st will be the Light and Shadow Class! Because this class always "ran over" as a 3-hour class, we are going to offer it as a 4-hour class!
Class Details -
Date: Saturday, April 21st
Class Times: Basic Prismacolor Blending Techniques 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Using Light and Shadow 12:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
Location: Women With Scissors' Little House
345 East Roger Road
Tucson, AZ 85705
For ALL other class information, including seat availability and class fees, please contact
Kelly at Women With Scissors. Her phone number is 575-6713.
As always, Terry will be bringing all his stamps (including some NEW stamps not yet on the website), coloring books, and greeting cards.
If you have been anxiously waiting to sign up for classes with Terry here in Tucson, this is your opportunity!
Hope to see you on Saturday, April 21st!

Two More Gorgeous Samples!

Posted by Annette on 5/9/2011
We asked several stamping friends from around the country to create some sample cards using different mediums besides Prismacolor pencils.  The samples have started arriving, and we are so excited to be able to share two of the many gorgeous new samples we have received!!
Our first beautiful card was created by Judy Trim of Chandler, Arizona.

Here are the steps Judy used to create her sample of "Indian Maiden, Desert Garden":
Stamp image on watercolor paper with black Versafine ink and emboss with clear powder.  Use metallic gel pens and a water brush to paint the image.  Mount painted image on black card stock and cut out.  Stamp background image on rust paper and outline with a glitter gel pen.  Finish by mounting on light green card stock, then the eggplant.  Go around each layer with the glitter gel pen.
At the recent Albuquerque stamp show we were excited to have Cheryl Valadez and her mother, Marilyn stop by.   Cheryl is widely renowned for her beautifully crafted cards using a wide variety of embellishments.  We were tickled pink when she agreed to create some samples using our stamps!   Here is one of the two gorgeous cards she dropped off at our booth in Albuquerque.

Cheryl used Copic markers to achieve her vibrant colors on the stamped image, "Just Relax".    This multidimensional card includes 7 layers of various papers topped off by jute-type braiding , silk flowers, and faceted gem-stone accents which all incorporate the ink colors she used in the image.
We snapped a photo of Cheryl and Marilyn with Terry at the Albuquerque Show when they delivered their gorgeous creations!
