Learning Prismacolor Techniques and Their Applications

Your instructor:

I Will Provide

• Paper, line drawings, dominoes, ceramic tiles, and heat-shrink plastic.

Class One

• Learn two color blending techniques.  I will demonstrate both techniques during class time, then you will practice using these techniques.
• Learn how to choose three basic colors for your first piece of art.
• Now it's your turn!   After my demonstration you will receive some copies of my line art that you can color in to create your own Prismacolor masterpiece.
• During the class I will be giving you helpful information for the use of Prismacolor pencils.  I will demonstrate the techniques I use to clean up my work, including cleaning the pencils, paper, and mistakes made while coloring.

Class Two

• I will demonstrate the use of Prismacolor pencils on dominoes, ceramic tiles, and heat-shrink plastic.  Then it's your turn to create your own make it and take it.   As stated above, I will supply paper, dominoes, ceramic tiles, and heat-shrink plastic for projects.

Class Three

• Learn how to use a color wheel to choose the right colors for your art (a little color theory).
• Learn how to create texture using colored pencils.
• Learning how to trick the eye.  Learn how to use a light source to change a flat-looking piece of art into something that looks three-dimensional.

What you need to bring:

• Prismacolor (SOFT LEAD) pencils, Set of 24, but preferably 48 or larger (for better color selection).  Pencils should be sharpened before you come to class.  When sharpening pencils, DON'T sharpen the end that has the color name and number on it.
• Pencil Sharpener
• Color wheel for Class Three (optional for Class One and Class Two).

CLASSES - 2007

• Class One and Class Two - Are three hours each.
• Class Three - Is two hours long.
